Pixi | Pixi + Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse
Pixi + Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse 2 in 1 £24.00 from Cult Beauty
I have been trying out lot of new skincare recently! With my breakouts and chin acne, I'm always on a quest to find the perfect cleanser and moisturiser. This was one of my favourites found on my search.
First of all I love all Pixi packaging. I love the colours! The green gold and pink with the rose gold edging ticks all the boxes. I don't usually keep packaging but I always seem to keep Pixi packaging!! I think I'm a little weird (no comment).
I had heard of double cleansing before and even tried doing it with my current skincare regime, but always felt like my skin was getting a little dried out. And when I was heavy with my moisturiser afterwards, I would end up with spots. With this one I didn't get any spots and my skin felt super soft and conditioned even before using a moisturiser.
I am going to review each side separately then give my thoughts on 'double cleansing' at the end.
1 Solid Cleansing Oil..
The Solid Cleansing Oil side almost looks like light coloured Vaseline! I wasn't sure about using at first as I thought it would be too greasy. But I was wrong. Just use a small amount and add a little water; it says a coin sized amount on the box but I use less. The oil will remove mascara and any pesky liquid lip you have on as well as condition your skin. Packed with Vitamin E, Camellia Oil and Evening Primrose Oil it makes your skin look hydrated and feel clean.
2 Cleansing Cream..
Anything that is left on your skin after the first cleanse gets removed with this one. It won't strip your skin or dry it out, when I have tried double cleanses in the past that has always been my issue. You apply this onto damp skin and remove with a cloth. I just used a normal flannel but you could try and microfiber one if you have easily irritated skin.
This cream is packed full of goodness like the oil. Vitamin C which can increase the production of Collagen in your skin and Arginine which has antioxidant properties.
I used this for 2 weeks and in that time I noticed my skin turn from quite dry and spotty to hydrated and glowing. The change was amazing, I still got my usual hormonal spots when I was using this but they were not as 'meaty' as usual!
But with all praise aside there are a couple of things I don't like about Double Cleanse, first of all it is really expensive for 100ml of product and well you don't really get a lot of it. Other than those 2 things I really loved it!
Would I recommend Double Cleanse? Yes I would, especially if your someone who wears a lot of makeup or have congested skin. To be honest I would recommend this to anyone with any skin type I just don't like the price.
What do you think of Double Cleanse?
